'Sky Station Z4: First Contact' was originally released in October 2009, on mini CDR in a numbered edition of 25.
The idea was to write and record a further three 'Sky Station' albums; in a non-linear narrative form inspired by the 'Cornelius Quartet' by Michael Moorcock. The world still awaits the follow up, 'Second Coming'.
The music is progressive at heart; borrowing riffs and motifs from Pink Floyd (Sky Station), Porcupine Tree (The Controller), King Crimson (Queen of the Skies) & Rush (Sub Space Divisions).
Limited by technical chops, the music is delivered with passion and love for the genre.
It has always been one of my favourite solo releases.
Additional Note: The elevator recording was made at Abbey Mill Studios, Paisley
