about

'The Starling Post' by Andrew Paine was recorded in Glasgow, January 2006 - June 2007 and released as a limited edition of 50 CDR on the Sonic Oyster Records label.

Fun Facts:

1. The version of 'Tam O' Th' Lyn' was based on the Current 93 rendition. The recording you here is the first take, as my voice was so fucked by the end of it, I couldn't have sung another note. I have Richard Youngs to thank for pushing me on to the end.

2. Bonny Cuckoo was a tribute to Shirley Collins. My daughter listened to the song once, before effortlessly laying down three perfect harmonies. I adore this version.

3. 'The White Hare' is my favourite track on this album. I sound about 70 on it. This makes me happy.

4. Richard Youngs mixed the album. Hence the dedication.
